What was your path to becoming a therapist?

I have always been fascinated with understanding how one came to become the person that they are. I also derive meaning from being able to play a part in another person's growth and transformation. These drove me onto my path towards an undergraduate degree inPsychology, and subsequently a post-graduate degree in Clinical Psychology.

What do you do to continue learning and building competencies as a provider?

I attend professional development courses, training, and supervision.

What advice would you give to someone who is hesitant to try therapy?

Give therapy a chance- attend a few sessions and see if it works for you. There is no obligation to continue after the first session or complete a fixed number of sessions- you can stop anytime you want. Therapy is a process and it is hard work; it doesn't always make you feel better initially, but in the long run, it should, and if it doesn't you should discuss this with your therapist.

What should someone know about working with you?

I draw from a wide range of approaches in psychotherapy and seek to help my clients heal from past wounds, learn more about themselves, break unhelpful patterns of behaviour, and develop better ways to cope with life's adversities.

How do your own core values shape your approach to therapy?

I value kindness, honesty, and authenticity, and I bring these into my therapy by providing a warm, safe, non-judgmental space where I strive to be genuine to my clients. I also have a deep love for learning and hence adopt a curious approach towards my clients' issues, working together with them to deepen their understanding of themselves and their problems.
